Florida Statute 723: LINK
OUR LITIGATION WITH WYNNE BUILDING CORP HAS SETTLED
After ongoing negotiations for more than a month beyond our third mediation session on March 23 SLCCV HOA as well as Golf Village HOA have reached a settlement with park owners, Wynne Building Corp, ending the lawsuit. This lawsuit was initiated in 2021 over illegal rent increases.
The Agreement, which was signed by all parties on April 29, 2026 provides the following:
(1) Since these increases affected homeowners of record before November 2021, the settlement therefore provides that all current homeowners in SLCCV and Golf Village who owned their home continuously on or before November 15, 2021 to the present will receive a one-time rent credit of $339.00 reducing their rental payment for the month of June 2026. Wynne will be sending instructions on how to redeem this credit. Please be sure to verify you have indeed received the credit.
(2) Starting in November 2026 and each November thereafter, all homeowners who receive annual rent increases for the next 12-month period (November through October) will have the same increase percentage based on the most recent June CPI. This practice complies with FL Statute 723 and treats all similarly situated homeowners equally.
Your HOA believes this settlement is what is best for our community at large and we look forward to getting back to normal.
We will be mailing a notice to all affected homeowners, and we will ask each to please be sure to verify you have indeed received the credit.
